What makes these candies/mints healthier than the rest?

top

They are fat-free, low-calorie, and low-carbohydrate treats. All our products are certified organic, which means all of the ingredients are grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and are not irradiated. It also means that there are no genetically-modified organisms (GMO’s) and no harsh chemicals are used in the extraction of our flavors or colors. St. Claire’s products are 100% vegetarian, and virtually allergen free (no casein, soy, dairy, gluten, wheat, eggs, fish or shellfish, corn, tree nuts or peanuts). They contain nothing artificial whatsoever.

Tell me about the flavors and colors.

top

All of our flavors are made from essences (flavor extracts and essential oils) of the actual plant. For example, our lemon flavor is made from real lemons, raspberry from raspberries, etc. The colors are also made from plants – no lakes or dyes. Watermelon, Raspberry, and Guava contain colorants made from red cabbage and black carrots. Cherry’s red comes from black carrots and hibiscus. Lemon, Tangerine, and Peach contain turmeric and/or annatto seed extracts as colorants. Our Lime and Green Apple Tarts get their green hue from certified organic spinach. Our Grape Tarts are colored with extracts made from purple carrots and hibiscus.

What is an Aromatherapy Pastille?

top

St. Claire’s Aromatherapy Pastilles® are our newest line of products, designed as a “functional food.” The Tummy Soother and Throat Soother do just what their names indicate, many of the herbs and essential oils contained in the products have aromatic properties able to aid in digestion or soothe sore throats.

Are they sugar-free?

top

They are made without refined sugars. We use certified organic molasses granules and evaporated cane juice which have more complex molecular structures that will digest more slowly than traditional, refined sugar. They won’t hit your bloodstream so fast and have you (or your kids) bouncing off the walls.

Are they safe for diabetics?

top

You and your doctor must determine this. We can tell you that many diabetics eat these products, but ultimately you must discuss them with your doctor prior to use. In all likelihood, your physician will approve of them.

What is the difference between the tins and the boxes?

top

St. Claire’s Organic Sweets® tins contain 100 tablets of roughly 0.425 grams each, while the boxes each contain 17 tablets that are about 0.8 grams each. While you get slightly more product by net weight in a pocketbox, the tins have more pieces and are certainly nice to reuse. Tummy Soothers come in both tins and boxes, with 14-15 servings per tin (1.1 gram oval tablets) and 9 servings per box (0.8 gram spherical tablets).
